Abstract
Infinite Dungeon Survival is a top-down twin-stick roguelike shooter set in a dystopian arena called The Trials. Players survive escalating waves, earn credits, and buy upgrades between rounds. Built in Unity as a graduate project, the game explores scalable difficulty, responsive controls, and user-centered feedback.
Introduction
The project addresses the challenge of building a balanced, replayable 2D combat loop that remains engaging over time. Inspired by Enter the Gungeon and Smash TV, we designed a fast-paced arcade experience that rewards mastery and decision-making.
Design
Core vision: a focused survival arena emphasizing crowd control and spatial awareness. A readable pixel-art style, clear feedback, and an upgrade economy let players shape runs between waves.
Mechanics
Twin-stick controls; wave scaling; credits on kills; a vendor for weapon damage, AoE, and health upgrades. Sound/UI cues signal wave starts, shop phases, hits, and death.
Level Design
Single sealed arena with four entry points and hazards such as laser traps. Success is measured by survival duration and waves cleared.
